The Ukrainian branch of the Nautical Institute (NIU) celebrates its 20th anniversary. Anglo-Eastern Ukraine actively participates in the operation of the Institute and promotes its initiatives at the national level.
Capt. Andriy Boyko, the Director of Anglo-Eastern Ukraine, has been the NIU Chairman for several years now, and under his leadership, the Institute keeps evolving even amid pandemic restrictions.
“The very existence of the Nautical Institute of Ukraine creates a certain synergy in Ukrainian maritime industry, – says Capt. Boyko – The experience of Anglo-Eastern as one of the industry leaders shows that new ships require well-trained crews capable of operating state-of-the-art equipment and software. The Nautical Institute as a whole and its Ukrainian branch, in particular, is an organisation that opens new opportunities for sailors to upgrade their competencies and improve their knowledge and skills”.
One of the event’s highlights was an awarding ceremony. Capt Boyko, the Director of Anglo-Eastern Ukraine and NIU Chairman, received the Badge of Honour for the Distinguished Service at Nautical Institute of Ukraine.
“This is a great honour but also a great responsibility for me, – commented Capt. Boyko. – It is an impetus to move forward and take even more efforts to develop the NIU for the benefit of the national maritime community”.
